Pike County Swim Team

Coach Rachel’s swimming journey began with the Pike County Swim Team when she was 7 years old. (She gave it a try at age 6, but decided the water was just a little too cold! ) She also competed for the Jaxy Sharks at the YMCA in Jacksonville, Illinois. In 2006, while still a swimmer herself, Rachel began giving back to the program by serving as an assistant coach for PCST. 

After graduating from Pittsfield High School in 2007, Rachel continued her swimming career on scholarship at Lincoln College in Lincoln, Illinois, where she specialized in sprint freestyle events. After two years, she transferred to Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2012. 

Today, Coach Rachel lives in Pittsfield with her husband and children and teaches third grade at Pikeland Community School. Her favorite part of coaching is sharing her passion for swimming and helping young athletes develop skills, confidence, friendships, and a lifelong love for the sport.

Aislyn has been a part of the Pike County Swim Team family since she was 7 years old, spending 10 summers in the pool as a swimmer before stepping into a coaching role. 

Now in her second year as an assistant coach, Aislyn enjoys giving back to the program that played such an important role in her life. She loves helping young swimmers build confidence, improve their skills, and discover a love for the sport.

Aislyn is a junior at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where she is studying Elementary Education. Outside of coaching, she teaches gymnastics at Wood River Recreation Center, works as a lifeguard at King Park Pool, and provides swim lessons. Her favorite part of coaching is watching swimmers grow both in and out of the pool while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
