    Practice Information

Practices are not mandatory, but what you put into this sport is what you will get out of it! Swimming is different than other sports because your athlete is training in water. Being out of the water for a period of time can affect their "feel" for the water.

Age is a big factor when making practice groups but it isn't the only factor. An athlete's experience, stroke mastery, and mindset also plays a big part. Please be flexible in the first couple of weeks as we adjust and find the best fit for everyone. We will always make decisions based on what is best for the swimmer and his/her development.

⚫ Black Group: 8:00-9:15 *Emphasis on interval training, conditioning, efficiency, and race strategy

🔵 Blue Group: 9:15-10:15 *Emphasis on stroke development, efficiency, race strategy, and an introduction to interval training

⚪ White Group: 10:15-11:00 *Emphasis on stroke development and efficiency

Arrival: Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your practice begins. Practice groups run back to back. All swimmers should wait inside the fenced in area in our team camp. Children on the playground should be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times. Our focus will be on our swimmers inside the fence.

During: Parents are welcome to stay and watch practices from outside the fenced in area. Parents may not be on the pool deck for any reason during practice. Please do not "coach" your child through the fence. If you need to speak with a coach, please do so before/after practice or send an email or message through Swimtopia.

After: Swimmers should leave practice with a designated adult or babysitter. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up on time. Swimmers should not wander the park/lagoon areas after practice unless given permission by a parent/guardian.
